In the last weeks of 2017, OHB Italia signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Space for the procurement of the BIOMASS structure platform.
The BIOMASS satellite, due for launch in 2021, belongs to the 7th of ESA Earth Exploration missions and will provide essential information on carbon storage in global forests. In the frame of this contract, OHB Italia will lead a team of European subcontractors; the scope of work is the provision of the BIOMASS satellite structure including the design, development, production, integration, verification and testing of the equipment.
