PRISMA still in the spotlight.
The Satellite, developed by OHB Italia and funded by ASI-Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, focused its eye on the giant Tarbela Dam (121 Millions of water cubic metres and a crest length of 2,740mt.).
It is located in the north-west of Pakistan where the Indus River leaves the Karakorum Mountain and begins its journey of more than 1000 km to the Indian Ocean. It controls the flow of water along the Indus River and it is fed by snows from the Himalaya.
The dam has been operational for over four decades, contributing to water control in the region, to produce electricity and to let water available for irrigation purposes.
The attached image was obtained by processing the L2D data from the PRISMA acquisition.
