The experiments were conducted by the Politecnico of Milano and OHB Italia, Prime Contractor in the frame of the In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) Demonstration Mission, a program of and funded by ESA (the European Space Agency) and the strong support of ASI (the Italian Space Agency) with the aim of long-term lunar presence on the Moon, using on-site resources.
