Ground Operations Manager Ref.GOM_2026

In the frame of the IRIDE Mission, OHB-I operates its Eaglet-2 constellation (8+ satellites) throughout the whole operational life cycle.

We are seeking an experienced Ground Operations Manager to support the operations preparation and execution.

Purpose: The GOM manages all ground segment operations, ensuring continuous and reliable data flow between the spacecraft and mission control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee ground network availability, configuration, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with ground stations and network service providers for link availability.
  • Supervise the Ground Operations Engineers (GOEs).
  • Ensure data integrity across telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) systems.
  • Validate ground segment software updates and system maintenance activities.
  • Manage configuration control of ground system elements (servers, interfaces, databases).
  • Report on network performance metrics and outages.

Availability Requirements:

  • On-call availability during all spacecraft contact windows and ourside the windows for the system troubleshooting.
  • Ensure readiness of backup systems and alternate communication paths.

Other requirements:

  • MSc in Aerospace or SpaceTelecommunication Engineering or other relevant studies.
  • Proven extensive experience – at least 5 years – in ground operations, including direct involvement in LEOP activities.
  • Network and system admin, knowledge on mission planning and flight dynamics systems.
  • Strong knowledge of TT&C systemsground networks, and mission control infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ground segment monitoring and telemetry handling.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams under time-critical conditions.
  • Advanced level of English and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in LEO missions.
  • Ensure readiness of backup systems and alternate communication paths.

 Additional Assets

  • Knowledge of CCSDS Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) rev. A and C.
  • Knowledge of Procedure Language for Users in Test and Operations (PLUTO)
  • Knowledge of SCOS2000 Database Import ICD.
  • Knowledge of Space Link Extension (SLE) protocol.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and Operations Information System (MOIS) tool suite (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of ECSS-E-ST-70C (nice to have).
  • Ability to work independently as well as good communication skills.
