The Italian #IRIDE Programme continues to advance with the successful deployment of a further eight Eaglet II satellites, designed, built and integrated by OHB Italia S.p.A.
Launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California (US), the satellites were successfully inserted into orbit, marking another key step in the progressive build-up of the IRIDE constellation.
A few hours after liftoff, the acquisition of signal from all units was successfully confirmed by OHB Italia S.p.A.’s Mission Control Centre (#MCC) in Rome, consolidating the operational readiness of the constellation.
IRIDE is an Earth observation programme promoted by the Italian Government, developed by European Space Agency – ESA with the support of Agenzia Spaziale Italiana – ASI.
With 16 satellites now in orbit, #EagletII strengthens its contribution to the IRIDE Programme, reinforcing Italy’s capabilities in #EarthObservation for environmental monitoring, resource management and national security.
