Leaders and innovators gathered in Rome yesterday to shape the future of #SpacePhotovoltaics, a key technology for the fast-growing global #SpaceEconomy. 🚀
According to the latest Space Report (Space Foundation), the sector reached a record value of $613 billion in 2024, growing at an annual rate of 7.8%.
78% comes from the commercial sector, driven by reusable #launchers and the expansion of LEO #megaconstellations.
By 2032, over 43,000 active satellites are expected in orbit, revolutionising satellite connectivity for globalhashtag#telecommunications.
Within this framework, Electrical Power Subsystems (#EPS) will play a central role. For more than 40 years, OHB Italia S.p.A. has been a trusted partner in this field, with over 60 satellites and instruments successfully in orbit. EPS ensures power to spacecraft platforms and payloads, storing energy in advanced batteries and generating it through Solar Array Wings (#SAW).
