The manufacturing skills of OHB Italia have grown a lot in #40years of space activities and they are now including #capabilities on Satellites, New Space, Ground Telescopes, Electronic Equipment, Mechanisms and Electro Mechanisms, Detectors, Instruments & Payloads.
For the development of a space company it is essential to rely on the availability of modern #CleanRooms and #laboratories: these high-tech facilities give the company production #autonomy, allowing to be more #competitive in the market.
At the moment, as a performing satellite system integrator OHB Italia could rely on:
- A Production facility (360 sqm #ISO8 CR for manufacturing / integration and test)
- An Integration facility (190 sqm #ISO7 devoted to payloads / satellites integration) and a 180 sqm #ISO8 for instrument integration
- #ThermalChambers and #ThermalVacuum test facilities
- #EMC conducted susceptibility / emission pre-compliance test
- #MechanismsLaboratory equipped with a small thermal-vacuum chamber for functional tests, friction and motorization margin characterization in vacuum and/or in temperature
- #MaterialsLaboratory: dedicated to the verification and characterization of material properties when exposed to the Vacuum or Ultra-High Vacuum environment.
- #MetrologyLaboratory: for integration and metrology of contamination-sensitive, high-precision mechanical items.
- #ElectronicsLaboratory: to support electronics equipment development
