#FlyeyeTelescope #SpaceDebris OHB Italia S.p.A. #EarthProtection

“Space traffic management, mitigation and control of space debris, and sustainable resource utilization beyond Earth. These are the topics we discussed today at the #NewSpaceHorizonsConference in El Alamein, together with Dr Mohamed Al-Aseeri, CEO of the NSSA – Bahrain National Space Science Agency, Pierre Delbrel, CEO of Safran Egypt and Ali Al Shehhi, Director of The National Space Science and Technology Center   #SpaceDebris is a growing threat to satellites and astronauts. International collaboration is key to managing this issue, with the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI) playing a vital role. ASI’s initiatives, like Flyeye telescopes or the LICIAcube mission, highlight Italy’s expertise. Unified global efforts are essential for sustainability.   European Space Agency – ESA and ASI are leading efforts to tackle space debris, with Italy contributing through the Flyeye Observatory and international collaborations. ASI’s initiatives, like the Italy-Africa Space Leaders Conference, emphasize global partnerships and capacity building. Ongoing innovation and cooperation are crucial for space safety.   ASI is advancing sustainable resource extraction from celestial bodies through interdisciplinary innovation and international collaboration. Key efforts include developing ISRU technologies for the #Moon, #Mars, and #asteroids, such as oxygen extraction from lunar regolith and mapping Martian water-ice reserves.”
