SOFTWARE ENGINEER (M/F) REF.TELE.05.2022
Your Tasks:
The Telescope group is responsible for the realization of a totally remote and automatic Telescope to support the main space agencies in the SST and NEO fields.

- You will be involved in the realization of a wide spectrum of software components ranging from high level control system and GUI to low-level code for real-time operating systems.
- You will contribute in the HW integration and testing working with all technical teams involved in the telescope development.
- Contribute to the entire software lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, test, integration and documentation
- Develop software, test on the real HW and document the design applied.
- Support AIV activities and observation campaign
- Analysing users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
- Collaborate closely with other team members and departments
- Provide timely solutions
- Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
- Provide support and documentation
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Your Qualifications:

- Bachelor or higher engineering degree, in any relevant area such as electronic engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, physics or automation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Developer or similar role
- Knowledge of the EPICS framework
- Knowledge of general-purpose operating systems targeted for embedded applications (such as embedded Linux)
- Knowledge of network management in Linux
- Experience using and configuring build toolchains or similar development environments (such as Makefile, WAF, Visual Studio etc.)
- Familiarity with Git versioning system or any similar DVCS
- Experience with test-driven development
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written Italian and English
