OHB Italia is looking for its Payloads/Equipment Business Units in MILANO for immediate start a
Payload/Equipment System Engineer (m/f) Ref.PayEquip Sys_2025
You will join a team of System Engineers leading and driving the payload activities along the whole project lifecycle, including design, development, integration, verification, launch and in-orbit operations.
You will focus your activities on the technical coordination of the procurement of payload subsystems and equipment and on the payload requirement verification, but you may be required to support the overall system engineering activities as needed.
You could be involved either in early phases (0-B1) or in consolidation and delivery phases (B2-E), for both new developments and recurring projects. Typical applications are in the Earth observation business.
Tasks:
- Requirement breakdown and engineering at unit/subsystem level.
- Definition of unit/subsystem architecture.
- Coordinate internal technical resources (electronic, mechanical, thermal, SW, etc,) and third parties for the flawless procurement of units/subsystems.
- Support the Procurement Manager to ensure that all procurements are completed on-time, within scope and within the allocated budget.
- Prepare documentation relevant to the assigned tasks.
- Support discussions with external suppliers.
- Support reviews with customers.
- Support the Payload Engineering Manager with payload functional analyses and trade-offs, interfaces definition and verification, analysis of the performances and design justification.
- Coordinate the requirement verification activities and the preparation of the verification control document.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Space Engineering, Physics, or equivalent qualification.
- Significant electronic systems design and development experience.
- Verification control experience.
- 5 years minimum system engineering experience, familiar with the various engineering domains (e.g., electronics, structures, etc.).
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Able to discuss with suppliers and customers in English.
- Able to work autonomously following high level instructions.
- Structured work approach.
- Able to work under pressure.
