Junior IPME (Industrialization, Processes, Materials & Parts) Engineer Ref. LOR_2026

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Support the IPME function as the design-to-production hinge between Engineering and Production/AIT, helping ensure designs are manufacturable, integrable, qualified, and materials/parts-compliant—on time, on cost, on quality—for space-grade hardware.

 Industrialization (Design-for-X support)

  • Prepare and maintain DfM/DfA/DfI checklists; collect data and track actions from reviews with Engineering, Production, and AIT.
  • Contribute to Manufacturing Dossiers (MD): BOMs/variants, work instructions, tooling/jigs/fixtures lists, basic test sequences and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure documentation readiness (clarity, completeness, configuration control) for shop-floor release.

Process Authority (Methods & Qualification)

  • Maintain the catalogue of qualified/approved special processes (e.g., soldering, bonding, potting, crimping) and method sheets.
  • Assist in planning/executing new process qualifications (procedures, coupons/witness panels, reports) and collecting evidence vs. applicable standards.

Materials & Parts Engineering (M&P)

  • Help curate the Engineering Database (materials, finishes, adhesives, process limits, derating rules, restricted substances, EEE parts).
  • Draft and update Declared Lists: DML, DPL, DMPL, with traceability and change control.
  • Support PA/Quality in standard MPCB (Materials & Processes Control Boards) and SMT MPCB: compile packages, present evidence, record minutes, and track action closures.
  • Assist NCRs involving materials/parts/processes (containment, data capture, draft rework/repair routes).

Integration Support (AIT)

  • Contribute to build/integration readiness: sequences, handling/cleanliness controls, and functional-test preparation.
  • Participate in first article/first run activities and collect FPY/rework data.

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electronic, Aerospace, Materials Engineering or related.
  • Working knowledge of technical drawing/CAD or basic understanding of PCB/CCA and test fundamentals.
  • Solid Excel/Sheets skills; familiarity with document control/versioning and issue trackers.
  • Management of MYSQL databases.
  • English B2 (spoken/written); strong written clarity and attention to detail.

Expertise in one or  more of the following fields is desirable:

  • Awareness of space/aero workmanship and materials standards (e.g., ECSS, IPC-A-610/620, J-STD-001).
  • Hands-on lab exposure (soldering basics, mechanical testing, composites, environmental testing).
  • Basic scripting (Python/Matlab) for data crunching or report automation; BI/reporting exposure (e.g., Power BI).
