The “Electrical Power Systems, EMC & Harness Engineering” unit belongs to the “Integrated Systems-Satellites & Missions” BU. We are responsible of the EMC architecture leading relevant engineering activities in the whole lifecycle of projects and/or products, from initial conceiving and feasibility studies, bids and proposal preparation, design, and implementation, up to launch.
Main responsibilities are:
- Definition of the S/C EMC architecture
- Customer requirement analysis, flow down and system architectures trade-off
- System EMC, ESD & RFC analysis, and performance verification
- Customer and Subco’s technical follow-up
- EMC Spacecraft AIV
- EMC support to S/C AIT tests and launch campaign
- Control account, schedule and risks management
- Participation to bids for solution identification and costing definition
- Afford related R&D activities
Your Tasks:
In this role You will be in charge of covering the following tasks:
- Assess and analyze mission System and Operational Requirement Documents, SRD / ORD.
- Interface main peers, (i.e. AEL Arch, Sys E2E, Avionics, Payloads..)
- Implement Electrical and RFC architectures
- Assess RFC issues through modeling and analysis
- Lead and conduct System and S/S IVVQ
- Support AIV across Product Life cycles
- Support OPS team for SVTs, FOP, LEOP sims, LEOP and commissioning
- Lead assessment of motor drives interfaces and performances
- Assess mitigation techniques of the impinging Electric field generated by satellite antennas and equipment basing on dedicated radar absorber materials and assessed through dedicates computational solver (e.g. CST)
- EMC and RFC satellite architecture definition, sizing, and justification
- Conducted and Radiated analysis and circuit analyses
- ESD (internal bulk charging, external surface charging, discharge) analyses
- Magneto static field analyses
- RFC and LV compatibility analyses
- EMC and RFC requirements specification
- EMC budgeting, frequency, and control plan definition
- EMC corrective actions design (e.g. filtering, shielding, gasketing)
- EMC design rules definition for harness
- EMC testing at equipment level (setup, requirements, validation)
Your Qualifications:
- You have a Master Degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering, with explicit focus on radio frequency and EMC.
- You are fluent in English (C1 and above certification) both listening and reading.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in similar position with at least an experience on Earth Observation, Navigation or Telecom platform / spacecraft design and test phases up to the launch / LEOP and commissioning.
Specific knowledge:
You have a demonstrable knowledge of:
- System requirements analysis, flow down and verification
- Definition and management of design documentation: specifications, performance analysis, interfaces, budgets, validation.
- Analysis, simulation a validation of supply systems and equipment for mission scenario fulfilment
- Support to satellite test campaign during AIT, launch and in-orbit phases for power sim predictions
- Analog electronics
- Electromagnetics, Antenna and propagation topics
- Radio frequency system sizing
- RLC filters and circuit theory
- Matlab / Simulink programming
